Contest amongst online retailers for customers is at an all time high. Still, most retailers reflect traditional brick-and-motor business models: open a shop, drive traffic to it, and promise for sales, while going wrong to take advantage of the Web’s power to produce networks of consumers by online content, communities and partnerships.
